When Ryan and I launched our puzzle fundraiser to raise funds for the initial costs of adoption, I was surprised when “strangers” were among the first people who bought pieces to support our adoption. Strangers. People that neither one of us know at all. Before some of our best friends and closest relatives bought pieces. Strangers.
Then, I realized that these so-called “strangers” were friends of friends or friends of close relatives. I also realized that they were supporting the people they loved and cared about by supporting us.
So, we are now connected to these (no longer) “strangers” in special ways because these people chose to use their time and financial resources to support people they loved in a unique way. And, thankfully, we were blessed in the process.
What I’m learning– I can show the people in my life I love them by taking time to care about what they care about, which might mean loving on, praying for, and caring about people they care about. By seeking to view life from their perspective.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Thanks, Aunt Nanci! very humbling to receive such support from friends, family, people we don’t know so well, and some we personally don’t know at all! We need the support, for sure! So encouraging!
